Energy psychology (EP) is a mind-body approach to help one to understand and improve human functioning. A relationship exists between bioenergy systems, neuro and electro physiological processes, thoughts, emotions, sensations, and behavior; this relationship is the focus of energy psychology. Bioenergy systems exist and interact in individuals and between people and they are influenced by environmental and cultural factors.

About Karen’s Energy Psychology Techniques
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy is a short-term, goal-oriented approach to change people’s attitudes, beliefs, and behavior. This approach is used to help treat a wide range of issues, including but not limited to mental and medical illness, grief, stress, depression, chronic illness, phobias, PTSD, and more.
I can help clients determine what type of therapy is appropriate, help set goals, and determine the number of sessions necessary. Then I will begin to aid you in coping with and responding to your negative thoughts and conditions.
Advanced Integrative Therapy (AIT)
Advanced Integrative Therapy aims to reduce traumatic emotions, behaviors, and beliefs that lead to negative emotions such as emotional pain, negative and self-defeating behavior, conflict, and more. This approach is a comprehensive and effective type of therapy that reduces the effects one suffers after a traumatic event.
Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT)
The Emotional Freedom Technique is sometimes referred to as “acupressure for the emotions.” EFT is a method of energy psychology that is highly focused and involves the rapid release of emotional impacts such as stress and traumatic events, resulting in a clearing of the body-mind system.
To begin this technique, I will guide my clients through a process that involves tapping on acupuncture meridian points while having the client voice specific statements. This EFT tapping method can reduce stress levels while releasing stuck emotions and habits.
Thought Field Therapy (TFT)
Developed by Dr. Roger Callahan, Thought Field Therapy is an effective and non-invasive technique, using self-tapping algorithm sequences that stimulate acupuncture points.
While the acupoints are stimulated via tapping, the client is gently guided to identify a negative thought or image that is troubling. As with EFT, (Emotional Freedom Technique), acupoints are used to diminish emotional reactions to certain responses with specific thoughts and memories. The goal is to help the client stay calm and feel safe via the parasympathetic nervous system.
